What review will check for woodworking.
This is the intended process. The marketplace has not launched and the final review policy will be published first.

Evidence of your shop
We expect to ask for photos of your workshop, tools and pieces in progress, such as glue-ups, rough-shaped blanks and sanding stages.

Your design and your work
Using CNC, laser or power tools is common. Selling kits, pre-made blanks or imported finished goods as your own work is not. We will ask you to describe the steps you do yourself.

Listing photos that match the work
Automated checks will compare photos against known stock and dropshipping images and flag matches. A person decides what happens next. Nothing is removed automatically.
Limits: we cannot identify wood species, test finishes or certify that a board is food safe. Species and finish claims are yours to make accurately, and we will ask you to name the finish you use.
Photos that help review.
- Shoot in natural light so the grain and color read true.
- Show the top, the edge and the underside, with a ruler or familiar object for scale.
- Include one photo of the piece in progress or your brand mark.
- Use your own unedited photos. Stock images and AI-generated product images will not pass review.
Your name stays yours.
We publish a maker’s name, photographs or story only with that maker’s explicit consent, given separately for each. There are no placeholder makers, products or reviews on this site.

A few things
to know.
Can I use CNC or laser tools?
We expect to allow tools and machines when the design and finishing are yours and the listing says how the piece is made. The final policy will be published before launch.
Will you check that my finish is food safe?
No. We cannot test finishes. You name the finish and remain responsible for accurate safety claims.
What if I already sell on Etsy?
You can keep your Etsy shop. The calculator above shows the fee difference on your own numbers, and nothing requires you to leave anywhere.
Is joining the list an application?
No. It is an expression of interest that costs nothing and does not approve you to sell. A separate human review comes before any shop goes live, and there is no promised date.
Will you publish my name, photos or story?
Only with your explicit, separate consent for each of those things. Joining the list does not give us permission to show your name, your photographs or your story anywhere. The illustrations on this page are AI-generated and are not makers or products from Hand & Kin.
